Advocacy Experience was established in 2001 under the name Advocacy Matters. The organisation changed its name in 2007 due to Advocacy Matters name having been replicated several times in the UK.
The organisation aims to deliver the highest quality advocacy services with a primary focus on developing self-advocacy skills. (view and/or download our promotional leaflet see above)
Current service delivery includes the following environments:
- Forensic mental health secure services (low and medium secure)
- Forensic learning disabilities secure services (medium secure)
- Assessment and treatment services (dual diagnosis)
- Adult and elderly long term mental health care
- Gender specific services
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA) Services
Advocacy Experience has expanded its services in the North West since 2001 and is now one of the largest advocacy providers in the region, and nationally. Our core business is delivered in the arenas of forensic advocacy and IMCA, and the majority of Advocacy Experience’s work is contracted or commissioned.
The organisation is an ‘advocacy-only’ provider and does not deliver any other services; this is regarded as Advocacy Experience’s biggest strength and underpins the true independence of the organisation.
Advocacy Experience is an independent provider of professional advocacy services to people in a range of health and social care settings.
See Training & Consultancy page for other Advocacy Experience services.
